Dear All

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the sudden death of Brendan Courtney, one of our most loyal and dedicated members of the Mitchellson family. Brendan passed away aged 67 on Monday 23rd December 2024 after a short illness.

Brendan was born in Terenure, Co. Dublin in 1957 and joined the Mitchellson team in 1989. He was devoted to Mitchellson for over 35 years and was a highly valued and respected member of our work family. Brendan would always be the first one in the office and the last one to leave. He was an inspiration to all, and we will always remember his hard work and industrious efforts to make the company a success.

Brendan was an enthusiastic rugby fan and a big follower of London Irish and the Ireland national rugby union team. He would attend the rugby matches representing Mitchellson and showed great support and passion from the side lines. He was also a big Dublin GAA supporter and enjoyed numerous All-Ireland Senior Championship Final wins at Croke Park, with a few challenging ones against Mayo and Kerry.

Brendan was a true gentleman with a witty character, you would always hear his uproarious laugh first before you would see him. He lived life to the fullest and we will forever cherish all our fond memories and continue to share stories of him, keeping his memory alive.

Our hearts go out to his loving wife Siobhan, and daughters Sarah, Bronagh and Niamh and all the Courtney and McCready family.  Brendan was a caring and beloved family man, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

Brendan was one of a kind and he will be sorely missed by all. His legacy will live on, forever in our hearts. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
