The £550m western concourse represented the biggest transformation in the 160-year history of the Grade-I listed station while the total investment in transport infrastructure in the King’s Cross area in the last ten years now stands at £2.5bn.

The project involved a series of possessions and five blockades to minimise disruption, and resurfacing works undertaken when the station was closed.

Restored the façade of the western elevation of the Grade 1 Listed station, refurbishment and adaptation of the Western Range behind this façade, Construction of the new ticket hall adjacent to Platform 8 and new iconic glazed Western Concourse. Construction, of new footbridge, lifts and stairs, platform resurfacing and new infrastructure systems.
